A September Event for Every Austinite in Your Life
Although the temperature outside might fool you, summer in Austin is regrettably coming to an end. It’s a good thing there are still plenty of awesome events to keep us entertained this upcoming month! We compiled a list of fun activities in Austin to suit everyone’s taste. Whether you’re into craft beer or fantastic films, museum days or totally out-there comedy, you need to add these events to your calendar ASAP.
For the Music Lover:
HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) Benefit Day
Being a music lover is practically a prerequisite for living in Austin, and there’s no better way to celebrate this city’s unique culture than at the HAAM Benefit Day on September 1. Keep Austin’s music scene alive and rocking by supporting local musicians at this all-day event. There will be live music happening all around town, so there’s no excuse for missing out!
Cost: FREE, but donations are welcome.
For the Movie-Goer:
If being a film nerd is wrong, we don’t want to be right. For your fill of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror movies, take part in Fantastic Fest, a weeklong festival put on by the Alamo Draft House
(Sept 24-Oct 1).
Cost: Badges range from $125-$335
For the Comedy Fan:
Out of Bounds Comedy Festival
The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, held September 1 through September 7, will have you ROFLing all the way home. Comedians from all over the country come to strut their stuff and then duke it out in an interesting game of minigolf. Comedy and minigolf? We needed this winning combination, like… yesterday.
Cost: Passes start at $119
For the Craft Beer Enthusiast:
Texas Craft Brewers Festival
For Texas, by Texas, these local brewers invite you to wet your whistle on September 16 and join the rapidly growing community of craft beer brewers, lovers, and everything in between. Get to know the people behind some of your favorite brews like 512, Live Oak, and Austin Beerworks, and be introduced to some lesser-knowns while you’re at it (we don’t discriminate)!
Cost: $30 ($10 if you’re the designated driver)
For the Museum Aficionado:
If museums are more your scene, mark your calendar for September 20. There’s no lack of free things to do in Austin, but a whole day dedicated to our city’s museums at no charge to you? We think it’s time for you to get your knowledge on.
Cost: FREE. Check with your favorite museum and see how it’s planning to celebrate such a wondrous occasion.
